Last weekend we discovered an amazing place by chance. In the heart of Auckland and with a breathtaking view over Auckland. It is one of the most beautiful parks I have ever been to. The grass is unbelievably green. Precious old trees lined up gracefully one after the other. Little forests of pohutukawa, eucalyptus, pine, and so much more, planted with love, care, vision and style. Magnolia trees and daffodils in full blossom. Flocks of cute sheep having a really good time. People relaxing, having a barbecue, a jog, wandering around or just enjoying. Come along for a walk in Cornwall Park with me :)

Yesss, it's been a month already. One month ago. We packed up some essential stuff, got on the plane in full swing European summer, flew some 30 hours, crossed the whole world and arrived to our destination: winter wonderland in the Southern Hemisphere. And to my moments of inspiration :)
Here are 13 little stories, impressions & a recap of our 1st month in New Zealand.
Hello Everybody from down under, as they say it here :) Let me bring you a different perspective today, as a food for thought on how many ways we can see things. Even from a scientific point of view :)
Well, if you look at the map and check where is New Zealand on it, you will figure out right away what I mean. Hold on, wait a second... are you sure???

Towers. Tall, narrow structures reaching graciously towards the sky. Lonely, yet never alone. Outstanding, in every sense. Icons. Landmarks. Points of orientation. A souvenir. And a welcome home.
Two beauties of their kind stole my heart. Having lived in Paris for a couple of years, no question, my top favourite is the one and only iron lady, the Eiffel Tower. It had accompanied every single step of mine through the cobblestoned streets of the City of Lights, posing for so many pictures. Now, living in the City of Sails, Auckland, our new home - actually it could be as well called the City of Beautiful Skies, too... anyways, it was kind of obvious right from my first visit to New Zealand. Yes, Sky Tower, you are the one who has conquered my heart...
Still inspired by the breathtaking beaches here in New Zealand. I found a yoga studio close by and every time I go for a workout, I walk by the beach. Sometimes it rains, sometimes it shines. But the ocean is just amazing every time I walk by. The heart & body warming morning sunshine. Or the mesmerizing sunsets. Or the drops of rain falling on my cheeks. Or the waves - today for example, I got splashed by the waves and really wet :)
But anyways, yoga is inspiring. At least for me. Good for the body and soul. Lucky enough, Auckland has a great and diverse yoga scene, and a variety of styles to offer. I cannot wait till summer and find a cool beach yoga session, too... This is when I started browsing the net and rediscovered my absolute favourite beach yoga video :)
This week's Binspi is a truly special one for me. As it reflects so many feelings within.
"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." - Lao-Tze
First of all I really love this quote. :) I find it absolutely inspiring. Lao-Tze really got it right back then... Probably he liked walking, too :)
Second, it's been a month now that BinspiratioNZ is up and running on the World Wide Web :) and thanks to you all, it received over 3200 hits already!!! It makes me feel super happy, excited and even more inspired to share more with you :) Third, it reflects my plunge into a REAL REAL journey - step by step. A journey of discovering the most amazing place in the world - a true little gem in this globe, amazing beaches, breathtaking nature, sunrises/sunsets, friendly people and... yes, one of the most interesting and yet toughest of all, a little bit more... about myself. With 14,000 km of pure coastline and refreshing cool ocean waters, no wonder New Zealand is a great place for mussels to grow. The diversity is amazing, especially when it comes to colors. And luckily for us, seafood, too... :) |
