Seasons change, so do we...

It was a bit rainy, grey day today. October is like April in Europe. Spring, but changes its mood often. April is playing the fool with you. Or October. :) It is a bit confusing that it is spring instead of autumn...
I never really liked autumns as I used to associate it with rain and cold weather coming. Not until I lived in Paris. There, I found that autumn was actually the most beautiful season of the year, with a lot of sunshine, typically much less rain, beautiful warm colours of the leaves falling from the branches and covering the pavements. I loved the sound when my shoes or my bike slipped between the dry branches, as they touched.

It was always a new beginning, after recharging my batteries in summer, full of energy, and getting ready to stock it up for the winter months. It was always a time for speeding up in a way as you start woking after the holidays, but in a very different sense as compared to spring, as it was also a stepping back and reflecting on what has happened during the past half year. A mature, accomplished feeling as opposed to the young, playful spring mood.

This seasonal concept changes everything for me in the southern hemisphere. Everything is upside down. Winter is summer and autumn is spring. I am very happy about the fact that we moved here in winter, in the middle of European summer, as we had the wonderful opportunity to step quickly into my favourite seasons again, spring and summer, with lots of sunshine. :) Even though people complained here a lot that this is one of the worst and coldest winters and springs here for a long time. For me, this much of sunshine is already such a blessing :)

On the other hand, I see a lot of my friends in the northern hemisphere posting about autumn leaves, warm colours, Halloween feeling. My soul kind of feels like reflecting and slowing down. Warming up with a spicy hot wine. Contemplating, digesting, stocking up. Just as a continuation of a cycle coded in me for so many years. But then suddenly I realise it is spring. Revival. New beginnings. New energies. Fresh chilled lemonade season.  Trying to find my way in the maze, listening to my body and heart...

Today's weather was a perfect combination of autumn and spring.  A bit rainy, autumn like, on the other hand so many blossoms, new leaves, flowers. I feel fulfilled in a way.

Here are some pictures of a beautiful walk to remember in Long Bay.

P.S.: I have this creative sensation in me lately.
If I were a jewellery designer, I would definitely get some inspiration from this stunning nature. Yet for now, I will stick to photography. :)
