It all started with the secret plan of the husband. A secret plan that wasn't actually a secret plan at all, as she was fully aware of it, agreed to it, and in the bottom of her heart even wanted it... But in her most unsure and fearful moments she tended to believe it's not happening. At least not with her... How could this be possible... And so quickly? Her heart said yes, but her mind... Well, is she absolutely crazy? Is she really going to give up The Big City Life? The vibe, the buzz, the glamour, the social, the people, the culture, and retreat into the wilderness of a farm life? And, even more, willingly? Where walking to the shop next-door is a nonexistent reality? Where a car and driving is necessary to get back to civilisation? Where keeping up with the latest fashion will have to suffice in the pattern of her gumboots? And probably it will not even matter after a while, as it will be covered by mud, ha! Where she will be suddenly confronted by pure nature, animals and who knows what instead of the beautifully designed concrete jungles of diverse capitals she had lived in for most of her life? Is she really ready to be released into the wild? With all the package that will come along with it? comfort /ˈkʌmfət/ Well, once upon a time, not so long ago, these were her thoughts. Hers, who, during the past year, in one way or another, has been undergoing a progressive, yet hardcore training to shift to yet another new phase in her life. Consciously and unconsciously preparing to experience new adventures. To embark on another journey that will again and definitely shake basic foundations of her life. To face new challenges. Old beliefs and fears. Uncertainties. To step out of her comfort zone. To the unknown. Into the wild. And she can’t wait. Because, she knows, deep inside, that this is the place where magic awaits… And not to regret. One day. That she never answered her question. The what if? "What if I'm not (only) a big city girl? What if I have tried the life in the countryside? And, what if I liked it?" My Farm Diaries #1 *** To be continued… If you are curious - just as I am - how this story unfolds, please check back later :) ***Got inspired? So happy if you share ;)

Looking forward to each instalment as the adventure unfolds Bea - especially the times when you exchange gunboots for high fashion and hit glamorous cities of the world! You may be interested to know that I am a country peasant and hugely proud of my roots. Gummies, black-berrying, bird-nesting, messing about in the river, floundering in the lake, building huts in the pine-trees and being gob-smacked by the beauty of sunsets and the nor' west arch were the stuff of my childhood. Olivia will love you for this shift to the natural world! Love and hugs Lois xx

Ohh Lois thank you for this lovely comment! Your childhood sounds full of fun and amazing! And with your example, I am now convinced more than ever that everything can be done with style :) I always remember the times, too, although not so often as you, when I was close to nature when I was a kid, and "feeling" it so intensely now just reassures me every moment that this is the best thing I can do at this moment of our life. xx
